On days when no one is home for extended periods of time set the temperature to a moderate 67-69 degrees.

Likewise, when your cooking kitchen appliances such as ovens tend to contribute to a homes heat. This is another opportunity to lower the temperature. In addition, in the winter time there is nothing wrong with adding and extra layer to your clothes or comforter to your bedroom. Get cozy!

  • If you have further to travel, doesn’t it take you longer to get there?

When you attempt to heat your home, the further the air has to travel the longer it takes for it feel warm. Try closing the vents in rooms that are usually unoccupied or keep inside doors open so that air can flow freely.

  • Maintenance, Maintenance, Maintenance!

Simply, the better you maintain your system the better it will work and the less money you will spend in the long run.
