Due to the fact that Copper Coils have the tendency to leak, the Trane company has been slowly switching out all of there copper coils over to aluminum type.
Below we have a side by side view of the copper coil and aluminum coil.
The aluminum material as opposed to the copper coils holds up better to formicary corrosion, which is usuallycaused by contaminants in the air that collect onto the condensation that forms on indoor coils during a cooling cycle.
